St James Quarter Shopping Mall - Edinburgh

St James Quarter is a unique and prestigious development in Edinburgh City Centre and will reinforce Edinburgh’s position as Scotland’s cosmopolitan lifestyle capital.

It is a new retail led, lifestyle district that fully integrates into and enhances Edinburgh’s City Centre providing an inspiring, attractive, and vibrant destination for locals and visitors to live, shop, eat, sleep and play. St James Quarter will house an enviable line up of restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, public spaces and leisure venues covering 1.7 million square feet. 

Scope of Works

On this project we were the primary installation specialists for COLT International. Our works on this project consisted of a new smoke ventilation system within the multi-story car park, loading bay areas and escape staircases. 

Leading on from the successful delivery of the above we have also been instructed to undertake the phase 2 works on the development in the private residential area for the associated smoke ventilation.

Contract Management and Resource

The project was overseen by Paul Palmer supported by a senior site-based engineer 

(SSSTS Holder) who managed the day-to-day operations. At its peak the installation consisted of 12 engineers installing and commissioning the works. 

Subcontractors and Supply Chain

The termination of fibre optics we installed for the site wide network, were undertaken by a local contractor to ensure positive social impact for local companies.
